So i know I have made plenty of mistakes in raising my dog. It happens. But now I am experiencing first hand on the crap that other people went through. I like my roommate. he is a nice enough guy, but his dog drives me crazy. Equality and all, my dog drives him crazy too, but the difference is I discipline my dog. he just tells her to "GO LAY DOWN." Tonight he comes home from his third getaway in two months. Not even a thank you for taking care of the dog. No appreciation any of the times he has left. So tonight I told him that he gets to take care of the dogs tomorrow night. That they were not as well behaved. His response. "Well, maybe we will just have to leave them outside more."
"NO WAY" I know that you think its ok to just shove the dogs out of the room, but they need attention and mainly exercise. And I work too much to give my dog and his dog the attention they need. On top of it, he never cleans nor does he ever walk them.
I grew up with animals and they are an important part of family. I know every person and culture believes animals provide something different for human society, and thus the roles are varying. But too coup a dog up all the time is it wrong. If the dog is meant to be outside, make sure it gets exercise and has something to do besides tear up the yard. Our yard is so small anyways, and the dog always hurts itself on the fence. So NO, leaving them outside more is not the answer.
